My research is based on the development and application of statistical methods to studies in primary care. Areas of current interest include diagnosis, risk prediction and meta-analysis methodology.
I have previously worked on studies in a diverse range of application areas, including oncology, radiology, gastrointestinal disease, psychiatry, smoking cessation, mental health and environmental epidemiology.
Methodological research topics that have featured in my current or previous research include models for inter-rater reliability and diagnostic accuracy; risk prediction; joint and hierarchical modelling; spatial and spatio-temporal modelling.
I also coordinate the Year 1 & 2 medical statistics teaching of the Oxford pre-clinical (First BM) course.
