Director of Graduate Entry Medicine

  • General Practitioner
  • Fellow of St Edmund Hall

I have been involved with the Graduate Entry Medical Course since 2016 and from September 2018 will be taking up the role of Director of Graduate Entry Medical Studies, supported by an Associate Director and two Deputy Directors.

My research interests are focused in the area of Blood and Cardiovascular Disease. I am particularly interested in risk factors for Coronary Heart Disease and how these might be modified by interventions in a Primary Care setting that will ultimately result in improved health outcomes.

I am currently investigating factors that influence the development of early onset hypertension and exploring interventions that may enable earlier detection and treatment. Previous work has explored trends in various social inequalities and their impact on overall rates of Coronary Heart Disease and considering what factors might have influenced the observed trends.

I am also involved in teaching, organising the clinical education for medical students at St Edmund Hall as Fellow by Special Election.
