We are looking to recruit patients and public involvement and engagement contributors to support the NIHR Community Healthcare MedTec InVitro diagnostic Co-operative in Oxford.

We are seeking to recruit patient and public involvement and engagement contributors to work with us on an exciting new programme of research into diagnostic tests and medical technologies which will help community healthcare teams to provide patients with better care.


Overview of the roles

Patient and Public Involvement contributors for a programme of research on diagnostic tests and medical technologies in community healthcare across a number of themes

1. Long-term conditions. We would like to recruit 1 carer of a patient who has a long-term condition and 1 patient who has experience of living with a mental health condition (ongoing or resolved)

2. Acute paediatrics (urgent medical care for children). We wish to recruit 2 parents or guardians of children who would like to support this theme

3. Appropriate prescription of antibiotics. We wish to recruit 2 people who would like to contribute to this theme

Time commitment

Contributors will meet with the researchers 3 times a year for 2 - 3 hours each time in central Oxford


Contributors will be paid £20 per hour including meeting times and preparatory reading. Travel costs and other appropriate expenses (agreed in advance) will be reimbursed
